Many people believe that living in Greece is only feasible if you’re financially well-off, and that it’s only great for holidays—not for day-to-day life. However, as I’ve shown through my own experience, this couldn’t be further from the truth.
Yes, Greece has faced economic challenges, and it can be tough for locals, especially with the low wages. However, for expats, Greece offers a high quality of life with a relatively low cost of living. You don’t need to be wealthy to enjoy the simple pleasures of this beautiful country. In fact, many expats, like myself, have built fulfilling lives here with modest incomes.
The key to thriving in Greece, or anywhere, is setting up a sustainable income stream. For me, working online has given me the freedom to live this lifestyle—whether it’s hiking or enjoying the beach on a regular Thursday morning. And I’m not the only one. Many others, including Greeks and expats, are living similar lives. It’s not about being on a constant holiday; it’s about building a life that aligns with your dreams.
